Holly 02:43
holly, please return yourself to me? you, my only one true christmas tree I was removed away from your side barren and dressed up watching you as I die holly, won’t you bear your fruit for me I only wish to see the red amongst your leaves shame to have fallen this time of year; snow sure looks pretty under your feet, my dear * holly, won’t you look upon me now all of my shinies; all of my presents on the ground if I could give you a piece of me plant it where I stood and we could grow eternally?

Dingbells 04:02
the ding bells are dinging in the thin of the air everyone’s forgotten what they’re for there’s another man in a red hat and he’s charming the kids the same old songs they’re singing on every shop floor and Christie’s running late with the list again it’s not like she didn’t know when it was and Dad comes to realise he doesn’t know his kids he stands mystified by the aisles and the colours and the choice the tunnel lights the city with the money it cost and the kitchen’s being closed down next week keep an eye out for the beat men and the plain clothes cops because this christmas, you better find somewhere else to sleep we’ll dust off the church seats for another one say goodbye to the family until the next the dingbells are dinging in the thin of the air this time of year just feels like such a mess

in whispers as night fell, a panic spread the manager of the mill was dead! they found his brains outside of his head now no one will bake the christmas bread! a gathering came into the hall the widow stood against the wall the coroner says he took a fall there’s still no christmas bread at all they printed the hands of the mill man’s son they found the knife, they found his gun they found the slug inside his throat and christmas breadcrumbs on his coat 12 inch snowfall weighed on the town the christmas bread was never found the recipe went with his brain no christmas bread ever again?
5.
though I may not afford anything a painting from these fingers pays a thousand silver rings when this December comes a knocking I hope my comfort makes enough to fill up your stocking honey don’t expect a feast upon the day I’ll make a thousand dinners til the winter go away so twirl the fork and up your dance the sun is running out so i better light the candles man a pound for a present a little pound of me that’s all I have to give this year will it make you happy? rug up now, it’s getting pretty cold everything looks warmest in a pub around last call so wrap yourself a hundred times in me no scarf could ever keep ye warm or hold you as tightly windchill’s got me coughing up a storm by the time we find the new year both my lungs’ll be no more so if you’d like to treat me honey, a pair of new ones’d trump anything you could pay for in money a pound for a present a little pound of me that’s all I have to give this year will it make you happy? * why don’t we open up the final door our advent’s a little early but I can’t wait no more we’ll skip out on midnight mass trade it in for another glass I don’t think the big man’d fit his ass down my chimney anyway a pound for a present a little pound of me that’s all I have to give this year oh, a pound for a present just one more pound of me that’s all I have to give this year will it make you happy?
